IRBD 2024 Rules

Date of birth of Competitor in Troupes is 1st January 2024. Date of birth of Competitor for all other entries is 1st of April 2024, DOB must be stated on all entry forms. Dancer must perform in their correct age category unless Organisers have ruled otherwise.
Entry will not be accepted if full entry fee has not been paid.
Troupes are based on the eldest competitor not average age.
In Solo, Duo or Trio sections a Competitor may only perform once in the section.
Competitors to compete in their own age groups, the Organisers reserve the right to combine two or more sections.
The time scheduled in the program is the scheduled time of commencement, Competitors must be ready to perform on stage 30 mins before that given time as sections are able to run approx 30 mins earlier than stated time.
Competitors must dance in order of program unless the Organisers have granted special permission. No Substitutes for the original performer permitted.
Prompting is not permitted, other than the Adjudicator.
No persons will approach the Adjudicator or Adjudicator’s table during or after the Competition apart from Competition staff. The Adjudicators decision is final. Written protests may be lodged accompanied by a $15 fee and must be done within One hour of Adjudication. Decision of the Organiser upon any action or protest will be final.
Please adhere to the maximum time limits for each section:
8/U, 10/U – Max 2.5 Mins
12/U,14U, Open Age – Max 3 Mins
Troupes – Max 6 Mins
Duo/Trio – Max 3 mins
Adjudication only, will occur if the Competitors who do not comply with age and time limits.
Also, those Competitors who forget their dance and leave the stage, it will be at the Adjudicators discretion whether they adjudicate on what they have seen, or ask the Competitor to repeat their dance.
Preferably, acrobatics to be kept to a minimum within dance routine.

Music/Voice Critiques
IRBD again this year is using MyCompHQ which is an end-to-end system for the whole competition.
Competitors will register an account with MyCompHQ, if not already have one from the previous year.

Once registered, competitors can upload their music immediately and change it at any time leading up to the competition.
All scores and critiques will automatically go back into the competitors individual on line account.
All credit card processing fees are payable on your entry fee.
Dancers are required to check in at the front desk, please ensure you bring a USB with your music on it for backup.
All Competitors and Teachers are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate
insurances and licensing with APRA/AMCOAS.
Refunds
IRBD will ONLY refund entry fees (less a $10 fee from MyCompHQ) if the competition is cancelled by the Organisers due to unforeseen circumstances. We do not refund if competitors change their minds or their circumstances change.
Safety and injury
Taking part in the art of dance is a rigorous activity and can result in injury. Parents, Students and Teachers must be made aware that they enter the Competition and compete at their own risk of injury, damage, or loss.

• Injury, damage or losses to any competitors or spectators

IRBD Housekeeping:
• No privately owned video cameras or recording devises of any kind allowed in the Auditorium or in the change areas.
• All music choice and choreography must be age appropriate and acceptable for family entertainment.
• No props that are going to leave residue on the Stage, for examples; Paint, Glitter, etc.

Sections
• Restricted - Persons who have not placed 1st in any eisteddfod in that particular dance style.
• Open – Persons who have received 1st place in any eisteddfod in that particular dance style.
• Demi Character dance must have a theme or story; steps must be of a strong classical nature, no vocals allowed.
• Demi Character props must be simple and able to be transported on or off the stage only by the competitor
